An Adaptively Biased OFDM Based on Hartley Transform for Visible Light Communication Systems

چکیده

Direct-current biased optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DCO-OFDM) converts bipolar OFDM signals into unipolar non-negative by introducing a high DC bias, which satisfies the requirement that signal transmitted intensity modulated/direct detection (IM/DD) must be positive. However, bias results in low power efficiency of DCO-OFDM. An adaptively was proposed, could designed with different biases according to amplitude improve this letter. The adaptive does not need taken off deliberately at receiver, and interference caused will only placed on reserved subcarriers, affect effective information. Moreover, proposed uses Hartley transform instead Fourier used conventional OFDM, makes have computational complexity spectral efficiency. simulation show normalized bit energy noise ratio (Eb(opt)/N0) required error rate (BER) 10-3 is, average, 7.5 dB 3.4 lower than DCO-OFDM superimposed asymmetrically clipped (ACO-OFDM), respectively.

An Analytical Approach for Efficient OFDM Modulator and Demodulator Communication Systems Based On Discrete Hartley Transform

The main drawback of OFDM is its high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). High PAPR of OFDM makes it unusable in non-linear systems. So the clipping signals scheme is one useful and simple method to reduce the PAR. In the widely used OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems, the FFT and IFFT pair are used to modulate and demodulate the data constellation on the subcarriers. Thi...

An adaptive scaling and biasing scheme for OFDM-based visible light communication systems.

Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely used in visible light communication systems to achieve high-rate data transmission. Due to the nonlinear transfer characteristics of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and owing the high peak-to-average-power ratio of OFDM signals, the transmitted signal has to be scaled and biased before modulating the LEDs. In this contribution, an a...

PAPR Reduction Using Pre - Coder Based Discrete Hartley Transform in Optical OFDM Systems

In many wireless network applications Optical Orthogonal Frequency Divison Multiplexing (O-OFDM) plays an important role. It is a promising modulation technique for handling rapidly growing internet traffic. But higher peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is a major drawback in O-OFDM systems, which in results increases the complexity of digital to analog converters (DAC) and analog to digital co...
